Good weather, no rain

It’s been such beautiful weather I have spent lots of time outside, plus this weekend we had a embroidery exhibit that I will write more about later. But today I thought I’d show you some of the cute stuff that has been raining in here. Thanks my friends!

Yarn, fabric and some little bits of this and that that I won!

I won a wonderful sponsor giveaway at Sweet Tidings. I got a whole box of yummy stuff which made me feel very lucky indeed. Soft wool, three cute fat quarters of fabric, magnets, tea towels and a vintage Jack and Jill with cartoon illustrations that are super sweet!

Zine by Deborah Boschert called Small Art Quilts Designing a Series

I did a swap with Deborah and got one of her previous year zines. I think this is one of my favorites. It is called Small Art Quilts and it is about how you can design a series of small quilts. It’s a great tutorial and inspiration, and she also talks about elements and principles of design, and binding and finishing techniques. Fun read. I’m so into fabric right now!

Here are a few peeks of the inside;

And more fun stuff, on a canvas:

Painting by Chris of Prism Trail

Chris of Prism Trail sent me this cute miniature painting as a gift. It now hangs above my bed, beside some paintings I painted last summer when experimenting with my own art. Christ wrote in her blog post about my Metta Zine:

Imagine my delight when I received a copy of Hanna’s very own zine, filled with so much of the inspiration and creativity I visit her blog to see, but all new, all original, and accompanied by collage papers! Right in the zine!

She was so generous to share this with me. What a fabulous person.

Oh, and since I’m posting pretty items today, for my birthday I got mail from my friend Maria:

Stuff from Maria Lu

Skull card, green cloud pencil case and über cute Japanese letter and envelope kit. Plus, a towel with owls in a cute little row:

Everybody, say: Awwww!

 And last but not least:

Birthday gifts from cousin Lotta (Photo by Hanna Andersson)

From my cousin I got a small notebook, a card with a sweet promise of future fun and candles bought at Bangkok airport. Lucky me.

Yummy yarn
Yummy yarn!

This week I bought a skein of yarn, not for knitting but something else. Applique beneath embroidery perhaps, or wrapping string? I’ll be back tomorrow.
