Random Act of Kindness
A Random Act of Kindness, RAK, like those of Amelie in the fabulous and beautiful movie Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain, are selfless acts performed by a person wishing to either assist or cheer up another individual.
A Random Act of Kindness, for example, is to send someone a nice gift without expecting to get anything back – just out of the blue because you want to, like TJ in Germany did for me recently. I was blown away buy all the cute stuff she sent me, knowing about my love for owls, papers, pens and fun decorations.
She writes that she wanted to give me
…a token of gratitude for linking me to her blog. I continued to get traffic from iHanna’s very popular site even through her summer hiatus. iHanna was one of the first people in the blog-o-sphere to really help me along.

Random Acts of Kindness
A random act of kindness is a nonpremeditated, inconsistent action designed to offer kindness towards the outside world.
The phrase “practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty” was written by Anne Herbert on a placemat in Sausalito, California in 1982. It was based on the phrase “random acts of violence and senseless acts of cruelty”. Herbert’s book Random Acts of Kindness was published in February 1993 speaking about true stories of acts of kindness. wiki
I am a fan of Owls
Along with her very sweet and endearing letter my favorite item in the package is this owl pendant that she made for me:
♥ I love it! It is adorable, isn’t it?
You’re absolutely jealous, right? I know, I’m a lucky girl. Read more about it in TJ’s own post Owl Shrine.
The scrapbook owl in the cardmaking kit I got is a keeper – too cute to give away. I’ve put where I can see it every day:
Paper Owl – now on my recycled Letter Box Hanger thing that I love.
XOXO

I love the generosity of the mail art world, and maybe the internet art world? I?ve come in contact with lots of very sharing people on the mail art side where I trade, for example, most of my Prismacolor pencils are RAKs. I wish I had more to share, but since I haven?t don?t art for that long, and since I?ve only done mixed media for the past 6 months, I haven?t acquired a huge stash. Yet… :D So my sharing times are yet to come…
CUTE!
I must say, that pendant is the cutest pendant ever!
Oh Hanna you sweetie. Our internet router crashed for a few days and I was finally online now wondering what the heck is going on at my blog and here you go again!! TJ, there you are! I was wondering if you read this. The you are so kind, I just must blog those photos I told you about from my town… if I can find them again in all the photo folders on my computer… hehe. :-) Soonish, maybe. I won’t make a promise since I have so many things to write about that I don’t know where to start. Thank again sweetie you!
