Art Journal Peek: Valentine Heart Doodles

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

It’s Valentine week
, I’m sure you noticed. Isn’t it awesome?

Row upon row of Heart

As usual I dive into the heart theme without hesitation. It’s my favorite symbolic holiday, even though I do not care much about the actual day itself. I am a sucker for romance and love, but what is a single girl to do? Doodle hearts, and dream on! Right?

The above heart rows started a while back at my friend’s house. I tried out all my red and pink watercolors, and made small and big hearts that finally covered the whole page. Then when everything was dry I filled each heart with some kind of design.

Art Journaling Hearts

I got to try out her Wink of Luna pens, gold, silver and black. They are brush pens filled with ink, and using them is like trying to write or doodle with a paint brush. I found the ink beautiful but the brush quite hard to doodle with, so for the smaller hearts I went with gel pens and what ever I found at home.

Art Journal doodled hearts

The opposite side of this art journal spread is a brown paper page (made from a folded envelope). I took some notes, and doodled one of the many birds that are common at my bird feeding station right now.

A Blue Tit // Blåmes for sure

At the time I thought was a Great tit but later found out (via instagram) was a Blue tit. Here is the finished page:

I iHanna Love! art journaling so much, don’t you? Is Valentine something you celebrate?

I hope you are having a great week!

PS: If you want to learn how to stitch hearts, I’ve got a class you should check out. Just sayin’.
