Working in my Christmas Journal | Journal with me

If you have the time, feel free to watch the Christmas journaling videos x 3 – below and let me know if you enjoy them.

Probably the reason we all go so haywire at Christmas time with the endless unrestrained and often silly buying of gifts is that we don?t quite know how to put our love into words.

Christmas journaling in my December Daily TN junk journal by iHanna

Yes, I have continued to work in my Christmas Journal all through the month, and am kind of caught up, kind of.

I have also shared (so far) three videos on YouTube, and I am sharing them below in case you missed them there. In these three video clips I start filling the first couple of pages of my Christmas Journal, and I thought you’d be interested in seeing how they evolve.

I filmed, edited and uploaded December 1 to 6th in my journal! Yay, right?

Watching Christmas journaling videos and Vlogmas from all around the world always puts me in the right frame of mind for the season. How about you?

Let’s start on the first page of my Christmas Junk journal.

If you feel inspired to do a similar project next year and document your own December, just remember that there are Christmas Junk journals ready to ship in the Studio iHanna Shop.

For Christmas is tradition time ?
Traditions that recall
The precious memories down the years,
The sameness of them all.

Video 3 for today: Journaling December 4-6 + making some candles:

I hope you enjoyed that!

This is how far I documented December, on video that is. I’ve kept working in my Christmas Journal, but haven’t filmed as much because that takes so much time. I am more impressed than ever with people who film, edit and plan their content to go out daily or even on a weekly schedule on YouTube! I could probably attempt it if it was all I had to do, but when there are so many other things in life that needs my energy and attention – I just can’t. No-one is probably more disappointed than me.

The reason I took the time to create these videos anyway was because (and this is a bit of a secret) making my Christmas Journals and working in them is not my only Christmas joy these past years… I also enjoy watching my own videos later on. Actually: I love it. They put me back in the candle light, winter mood, which makes me feel like I’m in Santa’s journaling workshop in a way – and I enjoy saving that feeling in video form.

I watch the journaling videos from December 2018 and December 2019 at least once a year.

Don’t tell anyone, it’s our secret now.

I decided that the video of me making the Christmas Junk Journal last year was video number one, which means that I so far this December I have published part 2, 3 and 4 of the same series.

And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent…

Happy Winter Solstice!

  1. Thank you for posting these! Haven’t watched the latest video yet, but I wanted to reply to let you know you inspired me to do my own Christmas-themed journal. We’re traveling as I write this, so I even packed a kit of supplies to do my pages while on the road. I use the Smash line of journals for this. Don’t know if they’re still being made; I’ve picked up three now from secondhand sources. I like looking back on my previous years too.
