Christmas fair
Yesterday we went to the yearly Christmas fair to get some feeling for december joy in the newly fallen snow.
Here are some pictures from the fair. Horses with slades went around with children and families, I bought newly baked tunnbröd (thin bread) and some Christmas gifts for the family. There were snow, glögg, candles, a great exhibition of Christmas tree carpets made by schools and crafting people.
Here is a fire from one of the little cottages in the fair ground Gammlia:
The smoking chimeny from outside.
A window with a Christmas fair view.
Lots of billy goats made of straw!
Made this past week:
- Diped candles in school (made lots of them!)
- Made Christmas cards (not finished)
- Went to Christmas fair
- Finished reading a great novel
- Listen to Christmas carrolls by Studenkören (student choir) tonight in church
- Had glögg (hot wine punch) with friends + fruit sallad and gingerbread biscuits (mmmm…)
Next week: hang the stars, start buying gifts (for little bro), bake lussebullar (saffron buns)
Mysig bild inne i Gammlia stugan, vilken k?nsla du f?ngade i det ljuset!
Maybe maybe maybe (hoping!!) we will also enjoy sleigh rides and craft shopping and fresh tunnbr?dd and gl?gg at the Gammlia Christmas Fair next year… there may be a small small chance, I hope the chance grows as we save our money this next year :)
Sn?n ser verkligen fin ut ocks? – klart att det k?nns det mera jul och vinter med sn? :)
Oh, what I would have given to be there! Thank you for sharing your pictures with us. Looks like it was fun for all!
I love learning about all of the Swedish holiday festivities. I love the picture of the holiday view.
The bazarre bizarre is coming to Boston. So many crafters will be there who I visit their blogs faithfully. You can check it out on my blog. There are two girls who make great books out of duct tape and other industrial supplies. I can’t wait to go and buy all kinds of presents! Happy Holidays Hanna!

hmm sounds so dreamy. I love the pictures.
Oh, the fair looks wonderful. How I wish for a white christmas – though I think that I’ll have to go and find one, it’s not going to happen here anytime this millenium! Isn’t christmas marvellous?
Ah, that looks lovely! I miss country fairs, it’s the only problem with living in the city…
There are no problem with horses eating the kids?
Vad exotiskt det ser ut, och helt underbart!
I love that fireplace! I want to go there!
