My pink love | The Magnolia

You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait. Do not even wait, be quite still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet.
Franz Kafka

I really like the differences of the seasons, because very year when summer starts I am amazed by how green the world becomes and how beautiful all the flowers are. Every winter I can’t believe how cold the snow is, and how much a warm sweater can mean. In autumn I jump in piles of leaves and in spring, I have a rendezvous with my pink love, the magnolia tree. This year more magnificent than last. Oh how I adore the pink magnolia tree!

The huge flowers, so strange and foreign in Sweden, grow on bare twigs and are therefor more visual than most flowers. And right now they fill the sky, and no one can walk by without being affected by their bold beauty.

  1. One of my very favourite quotes from an amazing author, combined with one of my very favourite flowers – magnolias. They are truly stunningly beautiful, I agree.

This is a wonderful way to begin my weekend, so thanks for sharing this, Hanna. And enjoy your rendezvous with your pink love.

  2. Love Magnolias too, and chersih them when they bloom since they last such a short time. And you are so right about cherishing each and every season.

  3. That particular magnolias are one of the heralds of spring here in the south of the US. I too love how the flowers appear with little, if any, leaves. Of course, the regular magnolia is everywhere. And I love to bring a bloom or two inside as they have a very strong lemon scent.
