Creativity in Snapshots

Several yarn projects started, but nothing finished just yet. Lots of time by the computer editing photos too. A self portrait in a found, broken mirror on the road. Lots to see when you look down… (another post coming soon). Also continuing the documentation of “new things” coming into my life.

Like these things:

New from Ume?

New bits of creative material: Two bits of fabric from a friends sewing room. Lime green dymo tape from the office cleaning of another friend. Washi tape I couldn’t resist (new love: zig-zag). And pink skull stickers, just because you don’t need to resist stickers as an adult.

I’ve taken photos of thrifted finds etc to share on the blog through the years, but now this habit has grown. I’ve documented almost all new art material, stuff and clothes bought or received this year. Might be fun to make a collage of all these photos at the end of the year… Maybe.

Thinking about doing another postcard swap but then thinking again. When would we fit that into this year? It’s a bit late already, but maybe a quick one making 5 cards on a theme… What is your vote?

What are you up to?

  1. I’d be up for a postcard swap, even if I need to send them overseas. I decided to start doing swaps again and then save the ATCs, inches, postcards in my own art journals that never seem to get started. Or if I do start them, I promptly forget them. Maybe my 2013 goal will be to create in my art journals as well as make art. What a concept.

Also, Hanna, I am trying to figure out when I actually signed up to follow your blog. Whenever it was, I must have been a fugue state. And I’m so glad I did. I am loving your blog. You give me an incentive to write more from my heart AND possibly post photos of my daily life.

Thank you all over the place,

  2. I’m in. What’s 5 more? Lol. Love the washing tape! Are they special ordered or just found at the craft shops?

  3. Yes, please, another postcard swap would be great!!! Start soon and maybe have them due by the end of November???

  4. That first picture of the Hello Kitty tin was so delighting! Funny thing. Nothing special in it as such but still so up-lifting.

That 5 card swap sounds fun! I have missed all the previous ones but this one I would not. That’s promise. And though the year is coming to an end, do we have to have the whole thing done by the end of it? Couldn’t we begin soon and have our cards done and ready by Christmas and have the actual swap (posting and all) after that and don’t mind if it doesn’t get all done until January?

I think I would vote for sculls. Those pink sculls got to me somehow :) Maybe it could be a kind of a Day of the Dead or Halloween thing to contrast all the Christmas stuff? Nothing dark and depressive but fun with pink sculls and stuff, you know. Something along these lines.

  5. I love the first picture of the Hello Kitty Tin. It gives me an idea of what to do with the altoid tins I have that I don’t want to throw away.
