Details of a Journal Cover
Fabrics that are painted, machine stitched and embellished can of course be used in all sorts of ways, as book covers for your own hand bound books for example! It’s my favorite usage for painted fabric and exactly what I did with the machine stitched fabric I recently posted about.
I glued my fabric to the hard book covers of this Art Journal that I’ve filled with a mix of papers (but in this one mostly blank, white watercolour papers). Yum!
I’m filling its pages very, very slowly but it doesn’t really matter. I enjoy having it out and about. It decorates the room where ever I put it. Much more decorative than any porcelain poodle ever could be…
The cover makes me happy; pink, green, flowers, sparkles, circles, paint splatters, stitching. Happiness! And then there is the thickness of the book, the pink book binding thread – and the inside, so full of whiteness to cover, distort, mix up…
Here are more details of the fabric when glued to the cover:
I see favorite colours and flowers, but if you look close all you see are the dots.
Sparkly dots.
Dots on stripes, and sparkly pink thread.
Easter dot.
Dotted flower in the corner. And the back when book is closed:
A big sun-flower-dot – with gold sparkles. Happiness, right?

Lovely, it´s like easter/spring/candy/sun/spring flowers all-in-one :)
This book cover is beautiful, such happy colors, and great texture.
What a lovely bookcover! Did you us textile glue for glueing it down?
So beautiful, would love having that books just sitting there to look at, sparkly! xox
Love your journal cover, Hanna! The texture is absolutely gorgeous, and that big sun on the back would cheer me up every time I looked at it. Very inspiring…
Really, really beautiful!
This is major eye candy Hanna!
