Creative Snapshots | Happier at Home
Look for happiness under your own roof.
Gretchen Rubin
My Nine Years of Blogging is a big part of my personal Happiness Project, much inspired by Gretchen Rubin’s blog and her first book The Happiness Project that I’ve mentioned before. I got her sequel, Happier at Home, for Christmas along with a bunch of wish-list-books. Being both introvert and in love with my apartment, feeling happy at home is important to me. Sometimes I think I could stay at home always and be content, but when I try I go crazy rather quickly and start disliking my own company.
It’s all about balance, as most things.
Most photos i in this series of Creative Snapshots are of a happy home, my place. Making images (as well as collecting images) by documenting events and things that makes me happy (at home or elsewhere) is a huge part of my Happiness Project!
Here are a few more creative snapshots, featuring happiness in their own way:
I hope you have a Happiness Project going too?
If not, make sure you read The Happiness Project and Happier at Home. Both great guides towards thinking about increased happiness.
I’m really glad to hear that Happier at Home is just as good as her first book. I love the Happiness Project – it’s a great one to refer back to when things don’t seem so great. All of those sprouting bulbs are gorgeous! Are they outside your place? How wonderful :)
Thanks for leaving a comment!
The second book is not as profound but I do love the way Mrs Rubin writes! No, the bulb collection is from outside a flower shop not from outside my house. But right now there are lots of blooming daffodils outside here. Love those!
I am a big fan of both of Gretchen’s books, and of the concept of a Happiness Project as well. Her work has been very inspiring to me! I love seeing your photos of what makes you ‘happier at home’!
I do follow Gretchen’s blog . . . but for some reason have not went ahead and bought her books – something I am going to have to do soon. I am one of those people who is very content to stay at home also . . . love your snapshots.
I, too, am an introvert and much prefer to be at home especially since my day job requires me to be around tons of people. I need the comfort, peace and quiet of my home to refuel and nourish me……….. so I can continue what I love doing the most. I will put these books on my wish list. They look great.
I am also doing a Happiness Project with a group here in North Carolina, USA. It is truly a small world. BTW -I always find your blog very inspiring.
