Creative Snapshots | A Nip in the Air

Heart on a String

My pot of Rosary Vine, also known as “String of Hearts”, is overflowing right now. I must be doing something right with all my indoor plants, because they seem happy even though it’s getting chillier outside.

Here are some more snapshots:

October calendar
The quote in my wall calendar for October reads: There’s a nip in the air. Time to gather quilts and blankets… Exactly what I want to do when I get home in the evenings.

I’m making small piles of patterned papers on my desk. I’m planning on making collage postcards for the DIY Postcard Swap. Gathering and sorting, gearing up. Have you signed up yet? There is still plenty of time to create and sign up. And you don’t need to do them collage style either, it’s just my preference. You can draw, paint, embroider, sew, text, or doodle – any style you feel like. In a previous round someone made knitted postcards!

Just let it be from the heart, and it will be perfect.

  1. Yes, there has been a real change here in New Hampshire this week too. The nip has arrived and so have sweaters, socks and cozy blankets. I find it hard to lose the daylight so early but candles and cozy stuff help.
Thanks for sharing sweet bits of your world with us today !
    Light and love.

  2. I love the quote from your calendar (and the photograph) — makes me feel so cozy & warm. And the clouds in your other photograph make me think of angel wings!

  3. These are all so pretty! I love that Rosary Vine! It’s getting very chilly here too! I love it! Great latte weather! Oh! And in answer to your question re: my mini collages…sometimes I choose the words based on a particular mood/feeling from the previous week, other times the words just strike a chord with me & it all somehow comes together! :) Thanks for stopping by & looking forward to the postcard swap!
