Wishing you a Day filled with Good Things
Today I wanted to show you one of the pretty extras that I got in the DIY Postcard Swap this year. It is made by my mom, who has been participating in almost all of the swaps I’ve arranged I think.
I saw the beginnings of the postcard, because we had a crafternoon together in my studio, where mom started by painting the postcard foundation. She used acrylic paints and painted with one of our favorite methods of painting, something she too has fallen in love with…
…painting with a plastic card. Yum!
Then she took her painted papers with her home, cut them up and sewed flower landscapes with the sewing machine. Isn’t this one fantastic?
DIY Postcard by Mom. Isn’t this one fantastic?
Over all I am amazed of the quality and diversity of all your postcards, received and others that I’ve only seen online, both on instagram (hashtag #diypostcardswap), on blogs and on flickr. If you ever need postcard inspiration, there is a wealth of imagery there!
More postcards in my next post!

Beautiful postcard by your Mom!! Yep, I paint with a plastic card (or a palette knife) much more than I do with a brush. You get such great texture!
Anxiously awaiting your next post!
Your mom’s work is beautiful! I love those blues and greens.
