Art Journal Peek: Wishes

Paint Scribbles

I wish I was as free in life as I feel inside of you, dear Art Journal.

I wish I could live inside of your safety, and be nurtured by your colors, all the time.

If I could, I would live on Pink Paint Scribbles, and sugar it up with strokes of yellow.

Inside my Art Journal

I wish all days felt as inviting as your white pages, and at night, that they I had filled them to the brim as I do my journal pages…

People say ‘Are you trying to be abstract’ thinking then that they know what you are doing though, of course, they don’t understand what the devil it is all about. They think that abstraction means getting away from reality and it often means precisely the opposite – that you are getting closer to it, away from a visual interpretation but nearer to an emotional understanding. 1. Thank you, Hanna! I do feel exactly the same way. What a treat to visit your blog, once a day. Sweet dreams…

  2. this post rings very true for me as well hanna. i’ve never heard the quote before-it says a lot. i will add it to my quote journal. “If I could, I would live on Pink Paint Scribbles, and sugar it up with strokes of yellow.” would make a wonderful sentiment in a greeting card with this journal page as the cover!

  3. I love use of bright happy colors! What medium did you use in this journal? Crayons, gelatos? Really like your combinations of colors.

    • Thank you! I glued down some collage elements, but other than that there is mostly acrylic paint on this page, applied in different ways. :)
