Dear Photo Diary | Pink Polka Dots
Since I’m still not one hundred percent well after the flu, I haven’t made any new collages and feel way behind. I think I’m the only one not posting to the hashtag #365somethings2018 on Instagram, and I invented the thing! Gah! But I digress. I’m trying to go through older photos on the computer, and today I found a few pretty ones from a while back, when my desk was still pink polka dots that I wanted to share.
I think it means that I’m bringing back Dear Photo Diary, as a series of blog posts featuring creative, colorful and just awesome photographs from everyday life. Rather random, but bright and happy. And snapped by me of course, mostly with my big girl camera. ♥
Because, why not?
It took me years to learn to sit at my desk for more than two minutes at a time, to put up with the solitude and the terror of failure, and the godawful silence and the white paper.

Dear Photo Diary
Hello. So we meet again, you and I. I think it’s because we enjoy each others company. And I still love taking photos of all the pretty things of life.
I loved filling my first Moleskine Watercolor Album Sketchbook a lot, I can’t believe I haven’t wished for or bought another one yet. I had a lovely time in this, and will show more pages from it if you’re interested? This watercolor spread is from an online class I took at the time.
More papers…
Pretty wrapping paper. Saving it for collage fodder and making beautiful journals.
As you all know by now, I love Traveler’s notebooks. This is my pocket TN laying open on the pink polka dot table:
Super cute super tiny post it-notes with Hello Kitty on, and to the right one of my handmade inserts. Yummy, right?
In another of my regular sized TN inserts, I like taking notes:
I have no longing to go back to school, except maybe to be able to take notes daily, and fill notepads with doodles and random facts. But I love taking notes, I do, on inspiration, ideas, workshops and books. Yum!
The impulse to write things down is a peculiarly compulsive one, inexplicable to those who do not share it, useful only accidentally, only secondarily, in the way that any compulsion tries to justify itself. Joan Didion
And lastly, here’s the line I used to have above my desk, not sure if I have shared this before:
Watercolor paintings above my computer, inspires me to work faster so I can get back to painting.
Let me know if you want more pink polka dots and random photos from the life of…
…yours truly
/iHanna
PS: If you find the time go vote for a little napkin I doodled on when my desk was filled with coughing medicine and Nasal Sprays for Cold Relief, I’d love to win my first ever napking-doodle-challenge! Haha.

I love any series you share! Thanks for the info on doodleaddicts. That’s new to me. Oh and even though I am working on my 365s Ive not posted on it yet so you aren’t the only one! LOL
Hi Trish, thanks for reading and leaving me a comment. I am still coughing from having the flu, so I feel a bit worried about my 365 somethings – but I’m glad to hear you’re working on yours. Keep it up!
I think your photo diary is actually one of my favorite things about your blog. I like seeing the ways you surround yourself with creativity. What happy walls you have! By the way, welcome back to the land of the living. Having the flu is no fun. You take care of YOU first, and worry about #365 later.
Wow, thanks Marcia! I love my photo diary too, and photography in general, even though sorting, deleting, tagging and uploading takes a lot of time, I love looking at photos from my life – now and then. Yay for the digital age we’re in!
Thank you for sharing your happy photos and descriptions! So fun and cute! All your TN photos you post keep making me more and more excited about your potential class! :) Please take care of yourself and hope you’re feeling better soon!
Thanks for all your sweet comments lately, I so appreciate them.
I just launched my first workshop here, and it’s a bit scary but also exciting. I hope I can start filming the TN one soon. I’ll keep you posted.
Firstly, I love the two quotes you included. I have copied them both into my journal.
Second, tell me more about this watercolor class?
Third, I totally feel you about writing for the sake of writing. I don’t know how many things I have written in my notebook just to feel pen on paper! I’ve even started taking classes online for the sake of writing notes!
