You’ve gotta have Moxy

Moxy is definitely not a word I learned in school when the English language was on the curriculum… But when I looked it up at the online Free Dictionary (swoon, I love things like this site a lot) it’s defined as follows:

mox·ie (mŏk′sē)
n. Slang
1. The ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage.
2. Aggressive energy; initiative: “His prose has moxie, though it rushes and stumbles from a pent-up surge” (Patricia Hampl).
3. Skill; know-how.

Doesn’t it sound like a wonderful thing to have, to use and maybe even pick as a word-of-the-year-inspiration? I think we all need to have some moxie.

Wendy Rau, who signed up for my embroidery workshop Stitch with love, is called Gotta have moxie on Instagram, where I spotted her ATC:s inspired by that workshop. And of course I had to ask her if it was okay to share them with you guys. It is almost strange to look at some of them, because they’re very similar to what I created. My brain gets a bit confused by the similarities. But not all are class copies, some of her embroidered ATC’s are more “her own” – and all are inspiring and pretty if you ask me.
