Hello Kitty, hello thrifty book finds

Today I’m sharing my latest thrift haul (whereas my previous blog post was about a thrift haul from last year and one earlier this year) in a new video.

My thrifty book finds includes a Hello Kitty photo album with dividers and inspiration book for vintage hair does (Photo Hanna Andersson)

The Hello Kitty volume is not a book but a ring binder full of Hello Kitty dividers or photo album pages perhaps. I’m not sure where it would have been sold originally but I am so happy to have thrifted it and to now have it in my possession. But what should I do with the pages? If they were paper I would’ve used them to create a journal or book for myself, but now they’re laminated and stiff, so I don’t want them as book pages. Maybe I should just repurpos them as dividers in a ring binder I could actually use (that uses four holes which is what we use here). I need to keep pondering this.

Thrifted books. H is for Hawk (to read), a very colorful children’s book with illustrations that makes me happy and a second hand notebook that needs a new cover of some sort

This haul consists of a book that I want to read (H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald – I haven’t read it yet, if you have let me know what you thought of it), a children’s book with the most amazing animal illustrations by Marc Boutavant Vilket djur liknar mig? (in English it’s called Who’s Like Me? and it’s a “Flip the Flap and Find Out” book for small children, so cute!) – and my favorite find beyond the Hello Kitty binder is the book Hairstyles of the World by Van Roojen, published by Pepin Press in 2006. What a fun find! So many black and white illustrations to cut out and use in collages and art journal spreads. I can’t wait to play with them!

Three blog posts in a week, what is happening? I don’t even know – so enjoy it while it lasts. Next week we might be back to nothing (i.e. dust bunnies blowing through the HD at my office or autumn leafs jamming my brain, who knows)…

What are you enjoying right now?
